At almost 37, with seven Tour de France titles under his belt and just nine months of training after a three year hiatus, Lance Armstrong managed a position on the podium on Sunday. The legendary cyclist placed third in the 2009 Tour de France, behind now two-time winner and Astana teammate Alberto Contador and Andy Schlek of Saxo Bank.

This has certainly been another dim week for the T-Mobile professional cycling team; after the German cyclist, Patrik Sinkewitz made some revealing doping confessions reason for which he was dismissed last July from the team. Besides admitting to have used the banned blood booster EPO (erythropoietin) given to him by two former team doctors, Sinkewitz provided vital information regarding the doping condition among team mates and other related sources as he was seeking for a penalty decrease in exchange.

Seeing the colorful peleton swoosh by, riding the famous mountains like the Alp d’Huez or Col du Galibier in the Alps, for example, are dreams for many cyclists, both avid riders and weekenders. Watching the Tour on OLN is not like being there, however, and those who have the right expectations will get the most for their time and their money.
