Military insurance (also referred to as forces insurance or army insurance in some quarters) is basically defined as a type of insurance cover designed with the needs of the members of the armed forces in mind. The debate is understandable. Soldiers are, after all, trained to be practical people with an eye for priorities. To be sure, not many modern soldiers would want to expose themselves to the risk of working without any form of forces insurance cover. It is an incontestable fact that due to the nature of their work, the insurance needs of military personnel are significantly different from the insurance needs of the civilian population. And it is recognition of this fact the special military insurance packages were designed to adequately provide for the unique insurance needs of the military. And so phenomenal has been the growth of demand for military insurance over the years that we have come to a point in time where there are full-fledged insurance companies entirely devoted to the provision of such military insurance.
