There are very little documentations available on traditional art, craft and culture of tribal of Jharkhand, India. The purpose of this article is to introduce the urban people with tribe’s culture and traditions. The tribal festival “Jani Shikar” is celebrated once in 12 years and that too in remote hilly area in Jharkhand and in some parts of Chattisgarh state only. “Jani Shikar” is one of the only festivals which still exists in its purest form in remote tribal areas of Jharkhad, India
This festival involves violence against animals and hence, some people may not like this. However, I would like to highlight the other part of this festival.
