The 27-year-old Brazilian driver Felipe Massa continues his excellent performance in the Formula One tracks this time at the Valencia circuit where he won the race and he is now battling to take on the number one position from his McLaren rival Lewis Hamilton in the F1 rankings. So far in the Formula One 2008 season we are coming close to the end of the first quarter of the races as the Turkish Grand Prix approaches; this will be the fifth race and will take place on May 11th. While the drivers continue to prepare for the 58 laps track the drivers’ standings show current champion Kimi Räikkönen -Ferrari leading the pack with 29 points followed by the Britton Lewis Hamilton-McLaren with 20 points and this year’s surprise driver Robert Kubica-BMW-Sauber in third place. Pedro de la Rosa, who is currently the third driver for the McLaren Mercedes team has made it public that he is very keen to achieve the preferential seat left by Alonso just recently. In 1998 De la Rosa decided to move to Formula One as a test driver. It was built in 1940 but its popularity grew until the hometown boy and Formula One driver Emerson Fittipaldi got to hold its first Grand Prix - a non-championship round. In 1973 the racetrack was given full championship status and it was known as one of the longest circuits in the calendar.
