Brief Description: Yusuf was born in Lagos on August 17, 1963.Between 1983 and 1986, he attended Nigeria's premier university, the University of Ibadan, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree (B.Sc) in Political Science. At the end of a compulsory one year national youth service, Yusuf proceeded to the University of Lagos and bagged a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in International Relations in 1988. In 1991, providence positioned him in Nigeria's advertising regulatory agency, APCON, where he started out as a pioneer staff. Seven years later, he qualified as an advertising professional after undergoing a professional-cum-academic programme between 1995 and 1998. As APCON's head of planning, research and statistics, Yusuf is the chief thinker, strategist and idea-technician for the regulatory body. His responsibilities include planning seminars, workshops, symposia, etc. for his organization; he is also the point-man on Web issues, having coordinated the creation of the APCON website. Yusuf also supervises external relations, library and publishing matters, and serves as the arrow-head in the research unit of his directorate. In his official capacity, he has edited and co-edited several literature on marketing communications. He is also a renowned marketing communications columnist for most of Nigeria's revered newspapers and industry journals. Today he is the chairman, editorial board/managing editor of his organisation's news journal which was recently handed to him for repositioning. Danesi is married with children.

Danesi, M.Sc., was International Professional of the Year 2005 courtesy of the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, UK, which also listed him in its Dictionary of International Biography 32nd Edition. He serves on the Research Board of Advisors of the American Biographical Institute, Inc., Raleigh, NC, which also nominated him for Man of the Year 2006; he is also being considered by the same organization for the United Cultural Convention's International Peace Prize.
