The employee can also take his/her own safety measures in order to prevent accidents from happening; for instance, the employee has to make sure his pathway is clear enough in order to allow him/her to walk in a safe manner. The drawers should be completely closed soon after they have been used; every use is likely to demand for the same action. You can also avoid twisting, bending and even leaning backward while being seated. The electrical cords should be secured and the wires should be kept away from any walkway. The stepladder is always to be used when it comes to reaching overhead levels; you should not use chairs instead of these special ladders that have their design made especially for this kind of situations. The spills should be cleaned up immediately in order to avoid future accidents; every object that has been left on the floor by any of your co-workers should be lifted immediately. The loose carpeting is to be reported and even the damaged flooring is to be taken into consideration when it comes to the special reports that are being made to every work control center. You must also be aware that you should not carry anything that is likely to obscure your vision. You must wear stable shoes that have non-slip soles in order to avoid slipping or tripping.
The most important aspects that underline the office safety are the ones that can be put to practice by every employee; every employee should be perfectly aware of the things he/she is not supposed to do in order to avoid accidents. The office supplies are to be handled in the proper manner because any exception may end up by transforming itself into a severe accident. The employee should not expose himself/herself to dangerous situations and he/she must report everything that is not working as it should.
