Nokia has one of the most talked mobile phone in its portfolio. The N95 is a double sliding feature loaded mobile phone. Like other Nokia’s N series this phone comes in hefty at 120 g.

Fortunately it’s the best equipped phone in the mobile market today. The size is tolerable enough if you find out the many capabilities it can do. Although it does not boast of glossy or elegant body construction it can do almost about anything.

Features

The design is simple and discreet. It may remind you of N73 but shorter and slimmer in comparison. The front is silver while the back is velvet. The two-way sliding feature is a treat. When pulled downwards it reveals the keys for controlling the state of the art music player.

Compared to other smart phones Nokia N95 is compact but bulky with other mobile phones in the market. The body construction is made of plastic. The display is large and works well even in daylight conditions. The interface can be switched to a landscape mode. You can play videos in full screen with access to archives online.

It’s a quad-band phone with HSDPA and runs with Symbian 9.2 OS. The features that stand out are GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, UMTS, direct VoIP support, microSD memory card slot, miniUSB port, GPS receiver with basic navigation, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, 3.5 mm audio jack and TV- out port. It also has stereo speakers and bluetooth. They retained the infrared port which is usually disregarded if bluetooth is available.

Data transfers are seamless and quick with 3.6 MB HSDPA. You can use the phone as a modem and connect to the internet. The phone automatically searches for available Wi-Fi networks and connects without any set-up. You can make calls through the internet. Even if the phone is connected through your pc the phone can still make calls too.

There camera is fully functional with additional features such as light sensitivity, sequence mode and flash.

Cons

First off, it is huge. The memory card is not included in the box but it has 128 MB integrated memory. There’s no RDS on the radio. The poor battery life is not enough for its wide array of applications. It cannot edit office documents and GPS does not work with third party applications.

Overall the size compensates for its features. It’s the best phone in the market combining both mobile and smart phone into a neat package.
