My birthday was two weeks ago and my daughter threw the most fun party for me!
She invited six of my closest friends with the cleverest invitations. Everyone was talking about them at the party. Her decorations enhanced the theme and added to the fun. She carried the same theme throughout starting with the invitations, the decorations and carried it even down to the gifts she gave me.
We had fondue, laughing and talking. When we moved into the living room we played the true or false game. My daughter made up 10 false and 10 true things about me which she read one at a time. My friends guessed which were true and which were false. Because we are about the same age they all added stories of their own from their stash of memories. We laughed and had a great time. Whoever got an answer right they got a piece of candy. It was a big success because my daughter had done such a beautiful job organizing the party. 'Here are 10 tips in a nutshell' to have a fun, stress free, successful party.
1. Decide what the Purpose of the party will be—birthday, anniversary, holiday etc.
2. What Kind of party will it be—casual, formal, sit down, buffet, outdoors etc.
3. How many people will be invited? Consider time and space when planning how many people you want at the party. Also the mix of people is important. They closer they are in age the less work it will turn out to be.
4. What Time will it be held and do you have a time it will end?
5. What is your Budget for everything?
6. Location
7. Invitations This is the start of the party and can entice people to want to come.
8. Theme/Décor Will you have music, gifts, what kind of lighting, decorations or no decorations.
9. What kind of Food and Drinks will you serve?
10. Activities/Prizes
With smart planning you can always have a fun and successful party any time of the year. Parties don't have to be elaborate or cost a lot of money for people to want to come or for people to have fun.
