The battle was imminent and it’s raging! Every year it happens that people are seen waiting for the next big thing in the gaming consoles arena. The battle we are talking about here is between the Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation3 by Sony. Let’s get into the details of the two and try and emerge with one winner.

Sony PS3 is a high-end gaming console with a hard disk, and a Blu-ray Disc drive and high-definition graphics. Like the Play Station3, the WII by Nintendo comes with a SD Card slot and can display photos, the only difference being that its standard-def DVD drive can't yet play movies.

Graphics form the soul of any gaming console. Coming to that one can state that PS3 graphics are 1080p high-definition and offer a new level of quality and experience for gamers. The standard definition graphics in the Wii is equivalent to the one in PS2, and lacks when compared with its latest edition. However, one advantage that Wii has over PS3 is that it comes with a remote gaming control that utilizes motion-sensing technology, so that the gamers' motions with the remote are mimicked in the game. So, if you're playing Cricket, a six requires a similar motion with the remote.

But the PS3 can handle HD DVDs, play back your digital photographs, and connect to the Internet with a built in browser. The PS3 has been endowed with a decent game inventory that will appease your gaming soul to the max – that's for sure! On the other hand, the Wii can play GameCube games (Nintendo's last offering) and has been introduced with a new addition to the chart-busting Zelda game series thus offering the best in gaming zone.

In fine, it can be said that both the products are users' delight even though they have difference in features as well as pricing.
