Breast augmentation is quickly becoming one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries among many individuals. When one speaks of an “augmentation of the breasts”, they are referring to a surgical method of increasing the size of the breasts. There are many reasons why an individual may engage in this type of procedure. One is that the individual simply wishes to have the breasts increased in size, or they would like them reshaped for cosmetic purposes. Many individuals experience developmental issues with the breasts, and a breast augmentation helps to alleviate the issue of the difficulty in development.

Generally, when a breast augmentation is performed, implants are inserted in the breasts. There are two different types of breast implants that are offered. Silicone is the most popular type of breast implants; however, saline implants are also an option. The reason that silicone breast implants have gained so much popularity in recent years is because it is a known fact that they feel more like regular breasts than the saline breast implants do.

Saline breast implants are generally less expensive than that of silicone breast implants. Furthermore, the incision is also smaller once the surgery has been completed. One of the major drawbacks to the saline breast implants is that they have the potential to burst. Once this happens, the implant will quickly lose its size and form. However, if they do burst, the body will not suffer from dangerous toxins as saline is nothing more than a water with salt added. With silicone breast implants, once a leak occurs, it may wreck much havoc in the body before the individual realizes that this has happened.

While there are many benefits and dangers associated with breast augmentation surgery in general, most of these are based solely on the type of breast implant that is used. While it is important to understand the benefits and risks that are associated with the different types of implants that are available, you should also become familiar with the type of basic benefits and risks associated with the procedure in general.

Once an individual receives breast augmentation surgery, there is the risk of developing an infection in or around the area. However, most of these infections can be controlled by the use of an effective antibiotic. An individual that undergoes breast augmentation may also experience pain and sensitivity in the breast area. It is not entirely uncommon for an individual to notice that skin around the area experiences certain complications. Then, of course, there is always a chance that the individual may become dissatisfied with the overall appearance once the area is healed.

If an individual experiences issues with lack of development in the area of the breasts, and suffer from low self-esteem as a result of it, breast augmentation can be very beneficial. By having the breast augmentation done, an individual can look and feel like a new person. They can experience the luxury of having larger, fuller, and more cosmetically correct breasts. For many individuals, this is a very satisfying and fulfilling experience.

There are many individuals who should not attempt to engage in the procedure of breast augmentation. These include individuals who experience issues with their immunity, those that have serious conditions, such as cancer, and others. However, individuals who are in good health and between the ages of 18 and 35 are believed to be the best candidates.
