The competition of making the best slim phone has spawned numerous models. Motorola has successfully garnered millions of fans with its RAZR models. Unfortunately other mobile companies such as Samsung have also made slim phones. They may not be clamshells but they have ultra thin phones that pack in more features than the RAZR series.

To attract more consumers and keep the current fan base Motorola has created a new flagship, The Motorola KRAZR. The first of its kind is the Motorola KRAZR K1.

Features

At a glance it does look much better. The body construction is much thinner. Although it is mush thicker and longer than its predecessor you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. It is very comfortable to hold. The chin is till there and the flat keypad.

The surface of the phone is glossy and luminous. The body including the keypad is blue. They also modified the etched keypad for a more comfortable use. The keys are more elevated than the original RAZR.

Due to the change of body construction the internal screen displays 176 X 220 pixels. The external display has a 96 X 80 resolution. The colors are vivid. The low resolution is unnoticeable until you focus your attention on the letters on the display. The fonts on the menu are not quite smooth.

It’s a quad-band phone with GPRS, and EDGE. Other key features are a microSD memory card slot, USB, bluetooth and a 2 megapixel camera. The phone can also be charged through USB.

Motorola KRAZR K1 has the same phonebook capabilities with V3X which is easy to use. Call management and messaging provides a lot of options.

Cons

Most of its features can be found on the original. There’s no actual improvement except for the body construction. The camera is poor although they raised it a megapixel higher. The external display is also disappointing. It also requires constant cleaning because the fingerprints easily stick on the front.

There is no connection for the wire earphones and the MP3 player is illogical. It has two music players but none of them is efficient. It cannot be minimized and does not have shuffle.

Overall they have made better looking phones but not exactly better performing handsets. You can find most of the feature from the original. Other elements are copied although the phonebook is very efficient. If you’re looking for a prettier slim phone you may want to look at this.
