And this is how the story goes; on Saturday night at Flushing Meadows the Belgian number one woman in the tennis world ranking, Justin Henin; captured her seventh Grand Slam title by winning two set out of the Russian player Svetlana Kuznetsova also a former Grand Slam winner. .

Justin had won the title back in 2003 but ever since; she has struggled to overcome her personal issues as well as physical injuries, but all that seems to be part of the past as a new chapter unfolds for the 25-year-old, hard working athlete . "It's such a great feeling," Henin said after the match. "I had two amazing weeks and played my best tennis." Henin also becomes the first and only woman until this day to beat both Williams sisters in the same tournament on the way to the final.

On the other hand, we have King Federer whose authority on the hard courts is unquestionable. It made no difference if he played a right-handed or left-handed player, the fast runners or even those twice his size; Federer conquered his fourth consecutive Grand Slam title at the US Open 2007… fact that leaves an open question for all those interested in the tennis world … Is Federer getting better? … this question will certainly freeze many rackets right now; as no one seems to find the way to break him.

Many have stated that Federer is the next best thing that could happen to the sport. He is just an exceptional player, whose game is clean, keeps it cool at all times, studies his opponents and uses different strategies and the most important one of all, he truly enjoys what he does for a living.

Additionally, there are Nathalie Dechy and Dinara Safina who won the women’s doubles titles and the Belarusian duo Victoria Azarenka and Max Mirnyi that won the mixed doubles title.

These two past weeks have been extraordinary; we all have enjoyed matches that we could have never think of. Also, many doors have opened for those players who excelled the expectations; names we will continue to see rising in the world rankings which will come out next September 10th on the ATP and WTA lists.
