If we go by the dictionary meaning, Charity means doing some beneficial work for others without any profit motive. There are many such organizations all around the world, which are involved in such benevolent task. There are private as well govt. organizations; the govt. organizations run on govt. aids while the private ones are completely backed up on donations and grants!

Usually the concept of Charity works a lot in underdeveloped and developing nations! In India almost 40% of the population is still living under poverty line and so many are underprivileged and to help them many people are running charity organizations. These organizations coordinate fashions shows, music concerts, art exhibitions and the amount collected is used for charity purpose!

Not only for the poor, the Charity organizations spend ample of money even for helping the sufferers in distress due to natural calamities like earthquake, flood problems etc. Such organizations even work for people suffering from diseases like Aids, Cancer to name some. Apart from helping the people, there are charitable trusts even working for saving weak and dying animals.

These days especially among the elite class, Charity gives them recognition in the society, whatever be the motive at least they are working for such noble cause! These days in schools and colleges students are even motivated for the same! By doing charity we get mental satisfaction too! So if you want to do something good do involve yourself in charity works!
