Global mobile phone manufacturing leader Nokia is probably the only company that can boast of such a varied portfolio. From basic entry level mobiles, high resolution camera phones, music phones and high performing smart phones – the Finnish giant has at least one offering across all market segment, no matter how small the niche seem to be. Classic example would be the 8000 series that includes premium devices like the Nokia 8800 and Nokia 8800 Sirocco. None of its competitors are even close to Nokia in designing most unique and prestigious phones from trend-setting materials like titanium, chrome, and stainless steel. Keeping this tradition alive, Nokia have launched the Nokia 8600 Luna, which has been precision engineered to suit the expectation of premium mobile phone user class.

The Nokia 8600 is made from nearly opaque smoked glass with unique, soft-touch stainless steel. Thus, the Nokia 8600 Luna is enchanting to behold as it is a joy to touch. The handset's signature slide movement is carefully balanced to smoothly raise the ergonomic keypad from within its glass cocoon. The handset successfully lives up to its reputation of being a prestigious device with an air of exclusivity around it. The Nokia 8600 Luna is fitted with a 2 inch TFT based screen that can produce more than 16 million colours across its 240 x 320 pixels.

The device is a tad towards heavier side weighing 143 grams. This is due to liberal use of metal and other such robust materials. The Nokia 8600 Luna supports all four GSM mobile network bands and changes between them automatically. The handset boasts of embedded GPRS and EDGE technology for fast mobile internet connectivity with maximum data speed of up to 236.8 kbps. Local connectivity option includes Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP profile and microUSB. The Nokia 8600 Luna even features a 2.0 megapixel digital camera, media player and a decent memory pool of 128 Mb.
