“What!?”, I can imagine you musing as you read this. You must think I am crazy. But actually, building your list may be likened to a farm. The techniques may be different but they are very much analogous in so many aspects.


Prepare the soil: Your humble beginnings in Internet Marketing Business

Internet moguls did not become legends overnight. They toiled, nay, started out with a few pieces of straws which they were able to make use of in the best way they can. You must not underestimate yourself. Even if all you see right now is a handful of mud, you must see beyond and prepare the soil—your mindset, your marketing plans and strategies.


Cultivate the farm: Building a List

Building a list is cultivating the farm. When you build your list, you hunt your prospects and you make yourself known. You come in, fill a need from within your target market and make sure the people concerned know all about it. Build a list, since that’s where all the earnings and magic from internet marketing begins.


Plant the seeds: Building Traffic in Your Site

Traffic is not just about the list you build. It is the regularity of people milling in and out of your site to read, learn, obtain information and best of all, to buy products. You do not just build traffic by enlarging your list.

You can also do triple techniques such as the triple M and the triple S techniques. Triple S stands for sharply segmented sublists and triple M means message to market match.


Water: Followups and All that Jazz

Your autoresponders and outsourcing capabilities compose the phenomenon called followup. Your availability, the humanization factor in your business as well as your attempts to keep your prospects and turn them into buyers is part of what waters the seeds you have placed in the early parts of your venture.


Fertilize: Cross selling, upselling and other ventures to expand within your niche

You never get content with a single network. You fertilize, and you maximize what you have. Fertilization may be likened to cross selling and upselling techniques. Joint ventures, affiliations or links and increasing your product line are just some of the things that strengthen your identity and relationship with your clients.


Seeds grow and your reap your Harvest

Every internet marketer’s dream is that weeds won’t eat up what they worked hard for. Given that you are able to sustain all the maintenance required in your marketing farm, you will be able to reach that season in time where your seeds will finally grow and you reap your harvest with it.

As you can see, the internet marketing business can get very lucrative to its loyal aficionados. But it is not an overnight thing, or something that brings instant wealth. Like many other ventures, you have to work things out and expect the results at the end, after a season of working hard. The only difference of your internet marketing farm is that it grows exponentially at minimal cost and the rewards and potential is unexplicably higher.
