I have seen this happen time and time again. Coaches, consultants and other service business owners spend a lot of time and effort on getting traffic to their business web sites.

They perform effective search engine optimization by researching online keywords, modifying their web copy and getting links to their web sites. Coaches, consultants and other service business owners also use article marketing by writing interesting articles and submitting them to targeted articles directories, web sites and blogs.

In short, coaches, consultants and other service business owners spend a lot of time on learning and implementing various online marketing techniques. And they are rewarded -- their web sites take off and they start getting considerable amount of good, targeted traffic to their web sites. However, despite all of the increased traffic, these business owners are not seeing any increase in sales of their products and services. It seems that their target customers come to their web sites, browse for a bit and leave without actually hiring them or buying their products.

So, what is wrong? What is wrong is that coaches, consultants and other service business owners do not have a working process to talk to their web site visitors. They have created a useful web site and generated a ton of web site traffic, but they stopped there.

What they should done is they should have created a process to be able to capture the e-mail addresses of their web site visitors and continue talking and marketing to them on a regular basis. This can be done by starting and publishing a regular newsletter.

Many coaches, consultants and other service business owners are afraid of publishing a newsletter -- they think that publishing a newsletter will take away too much time from their other business tasks. They want to start publishing a newsletter sometime in the future, sometime when they get a lot of web site traffic and become better known.

However, you should start your newsletter first, before you start working on getting web site traffic and before you become known. This is because your newsletter will help you build your traffic, and it will help you become known.

Here is a plan to help you start and publish your newsletter:

- Get A Service To Publish Your Newsletter. Research a few different services and pick the one that will best serve your needs.

- Decide How Often To Publish. If the idea of publishing weekly or every two weeks scares you, start by publishing your newsletter once a month. You can always switch to publishing more often, once you get used to it.

- Offer A Gift In Exchange For An E-mail Address. Make your potential newsletter subscribers a great offer! Give them an audio recording or a special report on a topic that interests them in exchange for subscribing to your newsletter.

- Market Your Newsletter Every Chance You Get. In order to have a successful newsletter, you need to have many newsletter subscribers. To get more subscribers you need to market your newsletter everywhere. This includes your web site, your e-mail signature, online networking groups and more.

Stop throwing away your targeted potential customers! The first thing that you need to do if you run an online business is to start and publish your newsletter. It will help you promote your expertise and connect with your potential customers on a regular basis.
