Description
The O2 XDA Trion is a Windows smart phone based on the HTC Hermes handset. The O2 XDA Trion is a step up from the O2 XDA Mini S (based on the HTC Wizard). It has a 240x320 pixel display in 65,000 colours, a 2 mega pixel main camera with a secondary camera for video calling, 64Mb of internal memory, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wireless LAN support and a 400MHz processor (possibly an ARM-based Samsung S3C2440). There's a slide-out keyboard too (the photograph is of a German QWERTZ keyboard). The weight is not known, but we anticipate that it will be about 160 grams. We believe that the Hermes used microSD expandable memory.
Features
The first thing that catches your attention in this remarkable phone is the wonderful touch screen display that sports a 240x320 pixel resolution and unfurls an astounding 65,000 colours! The camera isn't the best though and is limited to 2 MP, but gives excellent results in almost all light conditions. Because the phone is expected to be a 3G device as well, there is a secondary camera for video calling as well.
Other than being a 3G or a 3.5 G device, the O2 XDA Trion has several connectivity features as well. The usual being GPRS, Bluetooth, Wireless LAN (WiFi) support, EDGE, Infrared and USB support. Being a quad-band GSM handset, you will never be stuck without telephonic connectivity, no matter which part of the world you would be in.
But the most amazing feature of O2 XDA Trion remains the QWERTY keyboard. It is a slide-out version which is very convenient, just like a tablet PC. Alternately, you can even use a stylus to operate the touch screen. There handwriting recognition application is generally reduced for amusement!!
For the entertainment buffs, there is a dedicated media player that supports multiple formats. Also, the phone supports Java MIDP 2.0, so that you can download your favourite 3-D games to spend some very happy hours in the company of your phone.
