Thinking of coming to breathtaking Maui for that picture perfect wedding ceremony? There are many beautiful locations that the Maui Marrying Man can show you to ensure that you have the wedding of your dreams here in Maui. But, before you take that walk down the aisle, you'll need to get your marriage license. While the state of Hawaii is in the United States, and their regulations regarding marriages are similar to the main part of the U.S., there are a few regulations that you should know before you apply for your marriage license:

1. You do not have to be a U.S. Citizen to apply for a marriage license in Hawaii.
2. You must be 18 years old, or 15 with the written consent of both parents or legal guardians, to apply for your marriage license.
3. Both the bride and the groom need to be present to apply for a marriage license.
4. Hawaii does not require any blood tests to apply for a marriage here.
5. If you are 21 or younger, you must provide your birth certificate. For anyone over 21, you need to provide proof of your age in the form of a driver's license or valid state I.D.
6. There is a $60 fee for your marriage license here in Hawaii, which you will need to pay in cash when you apply for your license. You must use your license within 30 days of the issue date.

If you would like to start the application process before you get to Maui, you can download the marriage license application from the Hawaii State Department of Health, or you can grab one from any local state marriage license office. Remember that you both must be there to file the application when you are ready to get married here on Maui.

For couples who are only planning to renew their vows, there is no paperwork involved as a renewal ceremony isn't legally binding here in Hawaii. So, the only thing you will need to worry about is which breathtaking location to choose.

When you are ready to book your Maui wedding, remember that the Maui Marrying Man can help you choose from any of the exotic beaches or thousands of other beautiful places for the perfect ceremony!
