Customer Review of  EN-4 NIKON digital Camera  Battery
Here's my experience of what happened with a generic brand of Nikon battery that I purchased for my Nikon D1X.
I purchased two new batteries from good-battery.com, and the description on the good-battery.com site included my brand of digital camera (D1H) in its compatibility with. The brand name on the battery packages says: "DIGITAL camera Battery, NIKON EN-4 Battery, NIKON D1X Batteries the high-end model of Nikon battery line, which has a long hours battery life (but costs three times as much as the generic brand).
I placed one of the new batteries in my digital camera when I got home (which I'll call Battery #1), and turned the digital camera on. It told me the battery had a life of about 120 minutes or something like that, so after about a minute of filming, I plugged in the digital camera charger to see how high the charge would go.

Author's provide other info:Is the Li-ion a better choice? Yes, for many applications. The Li-ion is a low maintenance battery which offers high energy, is lightweight and does not require periodic full discharge. No trickle charge is applied once the battery reaches full charge. The Li-ion battery can stay in most chargers until used. The charging process of a Li-ion is, in many ways, simpler and cleaner than that of nickel-based systems, but requires tighter tolerances. Repeated insertion into the charger or cradle does not affect the battery by inducing overcharge.
On the negative side, the Li-ion gradually loses charge acceptance as part of aging, even if not used. For this reason, Li-ion batteries should not be stored for long periods of time but be rotated like perishable food. The buyer should be aware of the manufacturing date when purchasing a replacement battery.
