San Francisco’s climate is very moderate and, within limits also predictable. San Francisco temperatures infrequently ever dip below 40F, or arrive at or surpass 90F. Its summers are prominently foggy; but for the summer tourist who has not heard, it’s vital to know about The City’s "natural climatic condition" - the fog. In winter, the adjacent waters be apt to keep The City from receiving as cold as other parts of the Bay Area. It often could go under freezing in the nearby counties, and be 50F in San Francisco.

In summer

During summer months, in the 50s during the night, going up to 75F in the noon until the fog comes in, dipping it to the 50s. But the fog does not really come always in and it frequently only reaches to the western half of San Francisco. Nearly everyday, by 3:30pm, there is a west wind (from other ocean) of 25-30mph. The storm actually calms by dark. In August, there might really be a few showers, still one cloudburst, as the edge of the Southwest’s monsoons arrives at the Bay Area.

In autumn

Autumn climate is the for the most part dependable. Warm (80F in The City, 100F in the ’burbs) and may be dry "Indian Summer" days exist in October, when there’s slightest likely to be any type of fog or rain. Still, in the 50s during night times. Indian summer is perfect for tourists, but difficult for California’s fire fighters. Fire risk becomes extreme. The "Santa Anas", in which uncharacteristic hot winds waft from the land toward the sea, are not restricted to Southern California.

In winter

The rains could be heaviest during November-December. These are cold winter storms from the Pacific, not actually monsoons. December also normally brings another kind of fog happen in San Francisco. This fog does not really roll in, as in the summer. It just becomes, increasing from ground level at night. It might burn off during morning times, or remain all day. Tule fog could stay during January and February, but normally these months are usually cold by San Franciscans’ standards and clean the Santa Cruz Mountain might also share the snow at these times. More rarely, it might reach San Francisco appropriate for a few minutes, and remain on edge tops in the suburbs for a few days.

In spring

The rains typically return greatly during March. Then April climate is the most unsure of the year. There could be a freak dry heat gesture in the 80s for a few days, and days later it could again rain as during March. By now, the nearby hills are a lively green, and the wind makes them show to swell with waves. May could be sunny and mild, or there could be continued overcast with temperatures frequently in the 60s and 70s. The summer model and golden hills return back in May or June.

All in all, in contrast with most other places in the United States, San Francisco's climate is one of the most smooth and predictable.
