But it doesn’t just tell you about these famous battles, it also shows you, with maps and charts, how they were fought, how the troops moved, and how the battle unfolded. This is an excellent and dynamic approach to the subject.

There are five main chapters in the book and they cover the whole range of combat during the period from infantry to mounted warfare, command and control, siege techniques and Naval warfare.
