Written by Tim BeachumMaking money on the Internet isn’t that hard, what it is – is time consuming.  Most people do not plan to fail they simply fail to plan.  In this article I’m going to show you how to find an online niche market that you can totally dominate.  The first key to online niche marketing is to do your research.  Start with something that you yourself are passionate about.

Once you have narrowed down your list, you need to do even more research.  Check to see if there is a sufficient demand for the niche market that you have chosen.  I guess your probably asking well how do you do research?  I personally prefer to use Google since they are the top dogs at the time I was writing this article. 

Create a list of keywords and or keyword phrases that best describes your chosen niche market.  Do a search for your keyword(s) in Google and take note to the number of results that come up.  Those results are your competitors… If you are new to marketing online I suggest that you try to find a niche with results that show up under a million.  However if you feel that you are experienced at online niche marketing then by all means go for it.

A little common since will talk you a long ways.  I can’t begin to tell you how many phone calls and emails that I have received from people asking me could I please take a look at their website and explain to them why they aren’t ranking well in the search engines.  So being the nice guy that I am I took a look at the guys website. I was shocked when I realized that he was attempting to compete in a niche market that had well over a hundred million competitors. 

With that said and done the point is… You should discard any niche market that has too much competition.

I want to make it crystal clear to you on what a niche market is and how you should structure your business.  Let’s say your passion is with weight loss.  Obviously that would be too broad of a category to take on.  You could narrow it down to “dieting information for men”.  You could be more specific and target “rapid weight loss for women”.  I just did a search for that keyword and realized that it has 1,230,000 competitors.  I would definitely dominate that keyword phrase.

Here’s the bottom line – there are a million ways to make money with online niche marketing if you do not have your own product you could market niche products via affiliate programs.  Or you could generate a substantial cash flow via autoresponders.  I could go on and on and on with the different ways that you could dive into the niche market genre.
