The Dayton Visual Arts Center was founded in 1991 by a group of local Dayton artists and art supporters. It was founded to give local artists a venue to display their work and to allow the Dayton community a chance to see the incredible visual art that is being created in the area. The center runs a gallery located in downtown Dayton which allows visitors to view the art of local artists for free. The center puts on nearly a dozen different exhibitions during the year. Among the regular exhibitions are a very popular holiday gift exhibition where artwork is for sale and a preview exhibition which precede the centers annual art auction. The center also hosts various other exhibitions. Some of these past exhibitions include "Image as Evidence", "Eye, Hand and Heart" and "Art on High: Painting a birds eye view of Dayton." As you can see that the center displays a great variety of artwork making it a worthy attraction to visit. If you take the time to tour the gallery you will almost certainly be back again.
