As a preference in the most important area of financial advisers’ business for 2007, pensions are right on the top.

A significant percentage of 74 of the advisers believe that pensions are the best deal this year. According to a research made by MetLife, advisers are making out of pensions an extremely important subject and the objective of establishing the best possible income after the retirement of their clients it appeals as an interesting challenge for them.

On the second place of importance, half of IFA’s has situated the asset allocation. What seems to be the most interesting challenge for them is the plan of establishing a more comprehensive funds offering.

Another important sector as the advisers consider it to be this year is the one of the A Day opportunities. About 47 percent of the advisers believe that this kind of opportunities are crucial to their businesses, while 33 percent of them believe that by transacting more self-invested personal stakeholder pension business can lead them to that so wanted way of the profit.

However, as the MetLife study shows, approximately 70 percent of the advisers believe that conducting an annual client audit is also extremely important to the wealth of their businesses climate.

Other aspect that was considered is the IT capability and almost half of the percentage of the advisers (46 exactly) believes that investing in the over the next twelve months is a sure source of profit.

Also, there are some other advisers priorities such as including in the near future better staff for training(34 percent), changing to a paperless office (24 percent) or recruiting more senior qualified RIs (16 percent).

With reference to the first option of the majority of advisers, Paul Shallis, MetLife chief operating officers said “The development of a better retirement income preposition is a massive business opportunity for the IFA sector”. He also added that “ Falling the annuity rates and concerns over drawdown are compounding the need to look at retirement income alternatives. MetLife globally has considerable experience in this territory and we have ambitious plans to launch an innovative retirement solution to satisfy IFA demand.”

MetLife intends to offer at the beginning a SIPP through the UK IFA’s as the cooperation with IFA describes it one of the major key features that they seek in product providers.
