The first destination for the majority of the travelers to Israel is Tel – Aviv, being this the case I would like to provide you with additional information about the best ways to make your way from Ben-Gurion airport into Tel Aviv.

Travel by train
Arriving to Tel-Aviv by train is very economical and suitable especially for young travelers or travelers who can carry on their own bags. Trains leave the airport every hour or so, and a ticket to Tel Aviv central train station will cost you 12 NIS. All major bus routes pass by the train station where you can make a transfer to trains to the north or south of Israel. If you are going to Tel Aviv you should consider continuing your journey by bus and not a taxi, as the taxi drivers next to the train station might try to over charge you.

Travel by cab (taxi)
While this might be the most convenient way, it is probably the most expensive one. You will find a moderated taxi line just next to the terminal exit. Make sure you are taking a taxi from that line only in order to minimize the chance for any hassles. A ride will cost you about 100 Nis which includes all the terminal special taxi taxes + startup fees + 1 luggage. Most of the Israeli taxi drivers are polite and friendly; just make sure that the price and exact destinations are clear.

Travel by bus
This is basically one of the most efficient ways. The bus line - 222 is located just outside of terminals 1,2, & 3 (international) operated by United Tour Bus Company travels into Tel Aviv via the central railway station, seafront hotels, and all major city’s areas, and costs NIS 12.5-16. Using this bus is recommended for its English speaking service and the included free sight seeing.
Another option is to take Egged Bus Company line number 475 which will take you to Tel Aviv central bus station. A ticket will cost you 11.70 NIS and the bus leaves every 20 minutes.

Travel by car
Avis, Budget, Eldan, Sixt, and Hertz are all have representatives at the airport, with desks in the arrivals hall. The airport is located next to rout number 1 which leads you directly to Tel-Aviv.
Traffic during the morning rush hours might be a bit heavy (bumper to bumper) and generally speaking unless you intend to rent a car for a long term, driving to Tel Aviv by car should be your least favored option.
