The monarch has made this change after considering the request from his son Charles and grandsons William and Harry. Windsor castle is a place near to their home and of course the young princes will have a chance to spend time with their respective girlfriends as well!

Incidentally, Windsor castle used to hold overgenerous parties for the Christmas at the time of Queen Victoria, the great great grandmother of the present Empress.

Also, Prince Charles plans to spend the Christmas vacation in Scotland along with his wife Camilla Parker Bowles. Prince William and Prince Harry are flying to Switzerland and Africa respectively with their partners for the vacations.
