Birth control pill has been an effective method for women to plan their family thereby preventing unnecessary risks of pregnancy. However, it is important to remember that oral contraceptives do not protect a woman from sexually transmitted diseases.

There are various hormonal methods for birth control, which work by changing the chemistry of a woman’s body. It is a fact that male sperm cannot fertilize if there is no egg released. This concept is widely agreed as a proven mechanism to prevent pregnancy. Oral contraceptive makes it difficult for sperm to reach the egg to prevent fertilization.
