Swimming pool coatings are of three types: acrylic, rubber based and epoxy coating. Epoxy coatings are durable. They are automatic chemical treatments and cool cleaners. They can resist ultra violet rays and are long lasting. Their life is for 7 to 10 years. The other type of coating is chlorinated rubber base. Their life is for 3 to 5 years. But this is cheap as compared to epoxy paint. And also, rubber base is less durable pool coating. It can be used easily. Wide range of colors is available in rubber based. The third one is acrylic coating. This paint is easy to apply, and easily cleans using water. It is applicable for any type of surface. This is appropriate for commercial use which can be repainted regularly. Its life is for 2 to 3 years.

In case, your pool has been damaged structurally, you must prefer to apply flexible pool coating instead of conventional coating. Flexible pool coatings are fiberglass coatings. They are applied for increasing durability and strength of poll. Beside this, it also adds to the beauty of the pool. As compared to conventional coating, flexible pool coating is new modern coating that is made up of fiberglass. These are very easy to maintain in comparison to conventional method. While using fiberglass in the pool as your coating agent, always keep in mind to use some smoothing agent such as plastic or anything like this. This is because of the reason that the texture generated as the result of fiberglass is rough and it is required to smoothen it by the use of plastic or something else of that sort.

The best option, if you want to re-plaster is the fiberglass. It is believed that if the government would have been making the plastic of same quality as it makes today, then today, it is possibility that every pool have been made up of fiberglass coating. These coatings may last for one entire generation because these come with extra warranty of around two and half decades. Fiberglass results in extra strength of coating. It can also withstand abrasion effect. In case, there is some discoloration, it is advised to go for chemical cleaning instead of draining the pool.
Aquafin is another option. It is a latex waterproof and cement based system that is applied to various substances for providing protection and waterproofing. It is protective a highly flexible coating.
