Most marketing articles will tell you about a certain type or marketing strategy. This can be something as simple as traditional as print, radio and TV marketing, or it can be as new as the development of a marketing blog or the creation of marketing articles. What you should know however is that marketing itself should be holistic. If you want to reach everyone you need, you will have to cover all the avenues of approach. In this article, I will teach you where and how to do marketing in a holistic way to get the best chances of success.
• Marketing in print – The first marketing medium that you should of course consider is the printed medium. Printing things like marketing postcards, brochures, catalogs and flyers are still very effective today and still remains as the leading mediums for proper marketing out there. They are simple to make and produce, and can easily be re-tasked for different distribution strategies. All marketing campaigns should have at least a print strategy for marketing for it to be moderately effective.
• Marketing in in radio and TV – Now, of course, the big babies of marketing are radio and televisions commercials. These mediums of course provide the best and widest coverage for marketing. You can literally reach millions of people with radio and television advertisements. The problem though is that these types of advertisements are usually harder to create and of course are more expensive. So creating them is a big effort while it can only last for a short amount of time. So you should use these mediums for special marketing campaigns only. If you want a continuing campaign, you should support this with something else.
• Marketing on blogs – If you feel a bit exploratory with your marketing strategies, you might want to tap into the use of blogs on the Internet. Many companies sponsor bloggers or setup some blogs themselves for the specific use for marketing. Most will usually publish marketing articles on a regular basis to keep new information flowing from their company. This can be a great two pronged approach to marketing since it can act as a nice platform to expose your products to people, while at the same time building up page rankings for your main site.
• Marketing on social networking mediums – Social networking sites are also great places for marketing. Websites like Friendster, Facebook, My Space and many others can be an easy portal to get your marketing messages across. You can easily create a separate profile for your firm, add comments and create notes for people to see. You can basically promote yourself in a general way through these through the different friend networks. Of course, please use this feature responsibly and never become a spammer.
• Marketing via email – Finally, we come to email marketing. While of course you do not want to be branded as a spammer, there are still better and more responsible ways to email marketing messages. For example, you can tell people they have to “opt in” to receive a free newsletter every so often to get a chance to win contests or get freebies. This way, your marketing emails are not unsolicited and will definitely be read more than your usual spam.
So those are the approaches that you need for a holistic approach to marketing. Do these all and you can almost be sure of success in your campaign. Good Luck!
