Brochure printing will not be successful unless you tailor the presentation to the audience that you are targeting. If your brochure is not designed to attract the proper audience, you will not see the financial returns that you are expecting. Here are some of the elements that you will want to consider when printing your brochures.

What should your brochure accomplish?

Part of knowing your audience is knowing what your audience wants. Does your audience want to be informed about a product or service? Do they want to know the prices of services that you offer? Are you trying to get them interested in a new product that you are introducing, or do they need more information on how to find you?

The purpose of your brochure will have a strong influence on the final design. When printing brochures, keep in mind that a brochure highlighting one product will have a different feel than a brochure that is giving a brief synopsis of all the products you sell.

Color is important

If you are looking to print a cheap brochure to place under wipers of cars at your local shopping mall, black and white printing is most likely sufficient to convey your point. However, if you are looking to print a brochure that is more professional, then you need to choose full color. Four color printing allows your images to pop, can help you to highlight important text, and will overall give your brochure a more professional image.

Consider your paper weight

The paper weight that you choose for your brochure printing will also have an influence on how your readers view your product and your company. While the flimsy, standard paper brochure can be great for massive distribution, if you are trying to portray a high end product or service to your audience, you need a heavier paper weight. The heavier the paper, the more expensive and professional it feels, and that leaves an impression about your company.

While you are considering your paper, you will also want to evaluate elements like gloss finishes. A glossy exterior will give your brochures a finished look and will help keep inks from smudging or fading.

How will they contact you?

Keep in mind that the brochure you print is not designed to make the final sale, but rather drum up enough interest that the reader contacts you. That means that you have to be aware of the customer’s preferred contact method and make sure that information is included.

For example, many customers today will look up your information on the internet, and thus, you should certainly include information like your email and your website. However, if you are targeting a slightly older crowd, it is important to keep in mind that some of these people may not be internet savvy and may prefer to visit your store in person or give you a call. Giving people a variety of contact options on your brochure allows you to ensure all interested parties will follow up on their interest by contacting you.
