In today's competitive world, being only a graduate does not serve the purpose. Higher
studies after graduation has become a must to survive in such a world. An MBA degree is
always helpful in such cases. But if you want to pursue any of the MBA courses from any of
the reputed B schools in India, then it will cost you a huge amount of money. MBA programs
pursued abroad, will be hard to pursue without a scholarship. There is however no reason to
lose hope. A good many sources are now readily avialable at hand from where a candidate can
get funds for his or her MBA program. Some of them are:
Scholarships and grants:
If you are searching for financial support, then the best way is to search for scholarships
or grants which are available from government and private foundations. Scholarships are not
required to be repaid because they are given to the aspiring students as awards. These are
given on basis of merit, exceptional academic or a good professional record and their
potentiality to make big in the future. Such scholarships are highly competitive and are
hard to get.
There are some grants which are given to a limited number of students. For example, students
from a certain ethnicity , religion, or nationality or those with particular academic
interest, etc are eligible for such grants.
Business school scholarships or grants:
Many business schools offer their own scholarships and grants to the students on the basis
of merit. These are again very competitive. Business schools offer such scholarships to
attract applicants to them. These offers can solve finance related problem to a certain
extent. There are some business schools which offer loans but accordng to particular
conditions.
Loans:
Even after getting grants or scholarships you can take up loans to finance the expenses of
studies and living. There are many banks, institutions which offer educational loans to
students. But the rates and terms and conditions vary according to the loans applied for.
Before taking up any loan, it is always advisable to go through the prospects related to
such a thing. Loans are required to be repaid within a certain period after getting a job.
Corporate sponsorships:
There are many people who want to pursue MBA courses along with their work. To help such
students, many big companies offer scholarships or certain programs so that they can broaden
their education, knowledge and skills. But most of the time such companies may ask you to
get into an agreement to stay with that company for certain period of time after completing
the course. So before you avail such facility and get into an agreement, always consider
whether such contract will be helpful to you in the long term or not.
These are some of the sources from where you can arrange fund for your MBA program. But
getting into any top MBA schools is not the end of everything, your potentiality and
perseverance to make the best out of it matters the most to succeed in life.
