Perhaps you have managed to attain positive result in Boston Terrier training. But the question is, will your Boston Terrier remain the well-mannered and happy dog you love when you brought him to travel with you? Boston Terriers love to be with their humans. They definitely enjoy being around during family activities. But what if the venue of your next family affair is miles away from home? Do you think your dog would love to go even if riding in the car makes him sick?

This situation is just one of the many reasons Boston Terrier training must include introducing your dog to cars or buildings and training your dog to ride in the car. While some dogs love to feel the joys of riding in the car, some are just plain fearful of doing it. To make family trips enjoyable, here are some travel tips to remember:

- The moment you take your dog to mingle with other dogs or animals outside your home, know that you are risking his health and life in general especially when he is not protected with vaccines. So be sure that shots are completed before anything else.

- If the only time your dog gets to ride in the car is when he is having his shots, he sure will not get in the car neither near it. Give short, fun rides as early as possible to get your Boston Terrier used to traveling in the car. Take him with you when you drive around the neighborhood or when you drive your kids to their soccer practice.

- Some dogs get carsick more easily than the others. If this has been a problem for your dog, schedule his feeding so that he has an empty stomach for your trips. Another option is to provide over-the-counter medications for motion sickness or better yet, ask your vet for prescription.

- Make your trip safe both for you and your dog. Don't leave your dog alone in the car. Boston Terriers are quite sensitive to extreme weather and are prone to weather related issues such as over heating. You should also make sure not to let loose your pet in the car with a leash on. He could hang himself to death.

If planning to go on road trip, it is important to consider your pet's condition. Seek your vet's advice to be sure.
