Car accidents happen with great frequency and many wonder why. There are scores of reasons that contribute to car accidents and here is a look at a few common ones.

Not Paying Attention: Drivers that are inattentive are notorious for causing accidents on the road. Even taking one’s eyes off the road for a mere couple of seconds can lead to an accident. This is why paying attention is critical 100 percent of the time.

Vehicles in Poor Operational Condition: Yes, there are driver’s that ignore repair concerns in order to save money. As a result, they place many at risk due to the presence of dangerous vehicles on the road. Such drivers present an extremely dangerous situation in doing what they do.

Poor Brakes: As much as with wish otherwise, brakes do not last forever. Brakes degrade over time and that is why they must be periodically inspected. Brakes that fall into a state of neglect present a serious operational hazard on the road.

Tire Blowouts: When a tire is overinflated or underinflated, it presents a risk to the road. This is doubly true when a worn tire remains on a car. Then again, even a tire in good condition could blow out if it hits an object in the road.

Manufacturer Defects: Some vehicles roll off the assembly line and contain mechanical defects and problems. When such problems are discovered, recalls are issued. Until such problems are detected, an unsafe vehicle may be on the road.

Poor Driving Conditions: When the weather is extremely inclement, it creates a serious danger on the road. This does not mean that the weather even has to be seriously inclement. Even a light rain can create slicks on the road so all weather condition should be taken seriously.

Drunk Driving: While a great deal of awareness has been raised over the seriousness of drunk driving, there are still those negligible individuals that will get behind the wheel while inebriated. Such individuals are commonly guilty of causing accidents and they do so with great abandon.
