iRiver S7 costs just Rs4,399 and looks classy, it has 1 GB capacity and has no display… just music (awesome music actually). A Li-ion batter powers this device and it weighs 17.5 grams.This device’s firmware is upgradeable. Memory is not upgradable and it doesn’t have a voice recorder. It, however, has FM radio support and the audio formats supported are – MPEG 1/2/2.5 Layer 3, WMA, ASF, OGG, MP3 (anyone want more?). It has four preset/ customizable equalizer modes.It does not have any built-in calendar, contacts, stopwatch or alarm. Bundled headphone quality is good and the actual battery life is 7.5 hours.

YES YMP 45 costs 6,490 and has a large touch screen, a stylus is also provided but this one lacks both music quality and built quality. It has 2 GB capacity. An LCD screen which is 2.4 inches with 264K colors. Li-ion battery and the weight of the device is 60 grams. This device thankfully supports expandable memory. Firmware is upgradeable. It has got both FM radio support as well as voice recording. Audio formats supported are MP3, WMA and WAV. Photo viewing and video playback is possible and the video format supported is AVI. It has built in speakers and the device can be used as a portable drive. . It also does not have any built-in calendar, contacts, stopwatch or alarm. Bundled headphone quality is very bad… buy a new one from then and there and the actual battery life is 11.3 hours.

iPod Nano – No one need an intro to when it comes to iPods but here goes… the music quality is awesome and screen is also good but it has no FM radio and a smudge prone back. iPod Nano costs Rs8,800. It has 4 GB and 8 GB capacity. A two inch LCD with 262K colors. iPod Nano weighs 49 grams and it also uses a Li-ion battery. It lacks both FM radio and voice recording (I’m taking about iPod Nano 3G). Audio formats supported are MP3, AAC, AIFF and WAV. Photo viewing and video playback is possible and the video formats supported are H.264, MOV, MP4 and MPEG-4. It has 22 preset equalizer modes but they are not customizable. It has all the built-in features like calendar, contacts, stopwatch and alarm. Bundled headphone quality is just OK so if you want to enjoy your iPod Nano better buy a new one. Actual battery life is 19.2 hours (the longest in this list).
