Clueless on what color scheme to use on your custom catalogs? Are you not sure about the best and most attractive color combinations for catalog printing? Well if you are a little color blind, or just not really into the art of mixing colors, you should not worry. Help is on the way for your catalog printing woes. In this little guide, we will tell you about a few of the proper color schemes you can use for custom catalogs and what they usually mean for your content and for your audiences.

Black and white classic

One of the common color schemes that you can easily adapt for your color catalogs is the black and white or gray scale color scheme. While this is not the most vibrant option for catalogs, it is the cheapest one. That is why a lot of people fall back on this color scheme when the catalog printing budget is tight.

Whatever the case though, black and white is still a classic color scheme that still invokes feelings of nostalgia. It never really goes unpopular, and you can actually take advantage of its impression on people especially if you try to project a classic theme for your products.

Corporate simple

Another very simple and common color scheme is the simple corporate style. This involves using a select number of colors (maybe 2 or 3) as the major color themes. Usually the colors are related to the color of the company's logo or overall brand motif.

Moreover, this color style usually needs clean and crisp layouts to make it work. Most corporate styles do not want a cluttered catalog layout since it looks very amateur for most people.

Color and white

You can also try using the classic technique of using one color and the color white as the color scheme. Since white is a neutral color, everything can match it. You can use a mixture of white and lighter versions of your main color for great effect. It is very simple but very effective.

Pastel colors

Many designers are also turning to pastel colors as a good way to lighten up their designs. Pastel colors are very appealing to the eye and can easily attract lots of readers. It is usually best though to use this color on color catalogs with products like clothing and accessories, especially for women since pastels invoke soft emotions that attract them.

Deep colors

Deep colors like dark red, black and dark blue can be also used for great effect in color catalogs. These convey a very intense kind of feeling that really emphasizes certain aspects of products. You can use this color scheme on color catalogs with your newest products, or the ones that you want to improve visibility.

So those are the common and proper color schemes in use for color catalogs. Try to adapt one of these schemes for your own color catalogs now.
