Help them with their school project works, home works and spend time if your partner is away. Make them feel that there is someone whom they can fall back on.

Celebrate their special days and achievements.
Unleash the child that is within you to get close to them. In this way, they can approach you and

understand you well. This eases in making the bonding strong.

Restrain yourself from talking ill about the ex mother/father. Badmouthing them can give birth to grievance in the child’s heart for you.
