The idea behind marketing your business is to get people interested in what you have to say. And one way of doing that is to put up poster printing that attracts attention. Nowadays, it’s called “guerilla marketing” – a type of marketing where your message is sent out and placed “in your face” so you do not have any choice but to listen and read what it is about. The technique has perfected the art of catching people’s attention that it targets consumers directly with unexpected posters, in places that are also unexpected.
That’s guerilla marketing for you. Having your message catch everybody’s attention especially in a much unexpected time and place is the way to get clients and prospects to remember your name and to drive your point. That is also the reason why many small and big businesses have taken up this very unconventional strategy to send their marketing message to their target clients.
Whether you are trying to convince your target readers to try out your products and services in your poster printing, or even to send out a powerful message to solicit donations to your cause, guerilla marketing when employed in your print posters, can provoke most of your target clients to act according to how you want them to respond.
Let us take for example a poster ad where an Italian sex store advertised its shop with stickers covering all of the windows of a car. The stickers on the windows showed some rather suggestive sexual poses to attract the attention of passersby. Then they parked the car in front of the sex shop with still another sticker that says, “Toys you cannot wait to use”.
Another poster ad that made an impression was made by the Australian Public Transport Authority. They got tired of people putting graffiti on their buses that they put an ad campaign where you see arms handcuffed at the back so the person seating in that chair looks like he was ready to be locked up. The ad reminded the would-be vandals of the consequences of their actions so they better stop even thinking about it.
No matter how you see them – disturbing, funny, gross, simple, broken hearted, affecting – whatever emotion they inspire, these type of poster printing ads have one thing in common: they make you react to their message. Whether disturbing equals effective; or even if laughable means getting your message across; the point to guerilla marketing is to get your message right in front of your target clients that they would not be able to resist or ignore what you have to say.
One thing is for sure – guerilla marketing when applied to your poster printing gets the work done as far as being effective is concerned.
