The healthcare sector of India has been growing at a fast pace from the last couple of years. The boon started from the time when the developed countries revealed that they could get eminent service for price that was half of the price borne earlier. The healthcare sector is anticipated to project the peak annual increase in income in the financial year to end on March 31, 2007.

Healthcare sector in India is a combination of private and public sectors. The healthcare system of the public takes into account healthcare services run by both the state & central governments that give amenities cost free or at subsidized rates, for the lower income classes of the urban & rural regions. With economy of India riding on the back of fast development, the healthcare industry is rapidly moving towards a rise.

The current mood of confidence in the global health economy is expected to be seen in the healthcare industry of India also. The launch of manufactured good's patents in Indian market is likely to enhance the healthcare industry by enhancing MNCs' move (multinational companies) to introduce specific life saving drugs. Because of the presence of many attractions in India such as skilled labor forces and low expenditures in production, these MNCs' are thinking of setting up R&D centers together with production units.

The privatization of Indian healthcare sector has been the key factor of resurgence for healthcare industry. A study made by CBHI (Central Bureau of Health Intelligence) shows that a bulk of Indians today of high as well as those of the middle- -income streams have faith in products and services that are rendered by the privately owned health centers than the ones that are owned by the government.

Healthcare services provided by private health centers are 60% more costly on an average, than the healthcare centers owned by the government.
