There’s few things more romantic than whisking your loved one to the coast for a break with the opportunity for long walks along the beach and maybe even a paddle in the sea. The chance to stroll around quiet villages or small towns where you can browse around antique shops, book shops, museums and maybe stop for a traditional afternoon tea in a quaint tea shop or, if you prefer, just snug up in a beachside hotel reading a good book and making the most of being able to spend time in each other’s company.

There’s something deeply romantic about seaside breaks, the chance to breathe in the fresh sea air and the opportunity to see nature at it’s best, with the ever constant waves and changing sand patterns and the chance to collect sea shells and driftwood washed ashore by the changing currents or watch the sunset or sunrise.

A romantic seaside break is all about being pampered and totally spoilt, from when you first arrive at your hotel to the moment you have to pack your bags for your return journey.

To kick start your break try to arrive in time for afternoon tea, once you have checked in and dumped your bags in your sea view room, sit down and spoil yourselves with the delights on offer, homemade cakes and scones with big dollops of cream a big pot of fresh tea.

There are many locations along the coast of Britain that can offer a great romantic escape but if you are looking to get away from crowds and the hustle and bustle of a lot of coastal regions, the Suffolk coastline has a lot to offer.

From Southwold to Aldeburgh, you will find a host of delightful fishing towns and villages that still retain the olde worlde feel of years gone by, with traditional fishermen’s cottages mixed with quaint boutiques and galleries, just perfect for strolling hand in hand.

Aldeburgh, where the fishermen still bring in their daily catch of the day, is a delightful traditional fishing community that has escaped the brash commercialism of many coastal towns, and if it’s a seaside location you are looking with stunning views out to sea then the Brudenell Hotel is the perfect location for your romantic break.

Located at the southern end of the promenade that stretches the whole length of the town, the Brudenell offers not only unrivalled views of the sea but a delightful restaurant with panoramic views and a terrace for outside dining and afternoon teas. The lounge is furnished with big comfy sofas with stunning sea views, just perfect for the romantic get-away.
