It is very common to copy ones favourite music or movie CDs at home on a personal computer. But Music CD duplication on a large scale requires some advanced technology and know-how. CD copiers are a fairly old invention and nowadays come installed in the home personal computers as well. In fact, even DVD recording is now possible on a home personal computer.

Earlier CD-ROMs did not allow users to record or write anything on them. With the invention of the CD-Rs (CD-Recordable Disks) and DVDs, replicating music CD and DVD duplication became a possibility. CDs and DVDs are encoded easily and the end result is good digital sound and good picture quality. There are many different techniques to achieve CD and DVD duplication, especially when the recording is to be done on a large scale.

Screen printing is the most popular method for duplication of Music CDs for mid to high quantities, for fast turnaround requirements. Screen printing is ideal for CDs and DVDs duplication, which involves spot colours. This method gives you the option to leave the disks blank and burn the data later or to directly duplicate them.

Another popular method is Thermal Transfer Printing. There is no minimal run-of-the-mill requirement in this method of CDs or DVDs recording. This method also provides the disks with a strong weatherproof finish. This method is as good as lithographic printing and is ideal for photographic designs. There are no failures in CD and DVD duplications by this method.

If the minimum run is a concern, high resolution inkjet printing is the ideal method to adopt. Inkjet printing not only produces high quality sound, it also provides vibrant colour reproduction and high resolution photographic quality. This is the most cost-efficient and high quality option where smaller runs of disks are required to be duplicated. All inkjet printed discs are provided with a lacquer coated finish, which is durable, smudge-free and glossy.

Although not recommended for high quality outcome, some unique situations for music CDs duplication or DVDs recording may require digital printing. All in all, there is a plethora of different methods available for CDs and DVDs duplication.
