It was not very long that Compact Discs (CDs) were invented as a storage media. But, today they are as commonplace as music itself. They have fast replaced audio cassettes and its other variants and are now occupying the top position as far as transfer of music files and data is concerned. In fact, the heavy reduction in prices of CDs and the technology to burn them, has resulted in the emergence of mass scale music CD duplication wherein every humble personal computer is acting as effective CD copiers churning out CDs after CDs like a powerhouse music studio. And, with the introduction of DVDs the concept of ‘more in less’ has caught the fancy of public like anything. DVD recording and DVD duplication facilities are now integral to the hardware of any self-respecting computer. Though with so much of disk duplication going on, copyright and Intellectual Property Rights do crop up routinely but as long as you are not duplicating CD for commercial usage and distribution, there is nothing much to worry about. However, it will always be more prudent to study the law of the land pertaining to copyright issues before indulging in any such activities.

The basics of Music CD duplication
For starters, your computer must be equipped with a CD R/W drive so that it enables you to create CDs with data on them. A CD can carry audio, video and several other formats of data. It is important to note here that different kinds of CDs are best suited to carry different format of data. Hence, to preserve the quality and purity of the original files during duplication, it is advisable to choose a CD that best suits the purpose on hand. The process of writing data on the CD is called ‘burning’, probably because a laser beam is used for the purpose. The computer must have special software for the purpose, though most come preloaded with one.

However, if you want music CD duplication for commercial distribution, you should consult professional duplication services for better efficiency, reduced time and reasonable rates.
