D3 Events organises Land Rover's team building programme

It is well publicised that the UK motor industry is currently one of the toughest commercial environments. Land Rover, like many companies in this sector, has faced difficult decisions in recent months in adapting to the downturn in new vehicle purchases. In order to recognise the dedication of their team's resolve and to inspire greater performance, the management at Land Rover UK looked to D3 Events' team building arm 'Outside Adventure' to run a reward and motivational programme for its 140 core staff.

John Edwards, Land Rover UK Managing Director, said 'Our team have really had to knuckle down and dig deep of late – I was looking for a dynamic and purposeful programme that would be inspiring, give a sense of individual value and drive a passion for our business. It needed to be fun but not frivolous.'

D3 devised a full programme that allowed each individual to participate on an equal footing, and prove that everyone's role within the staff structure is a vital component in the team's success.

The key message platform that D3's programme promoted was: 'I Know - I Can - I will – We are...'

Simon Day, D3's Creative Director said, 'Individuals within a business need to feel valued and that their role plays a significant part in the company's success; to achieve this, there must be a free-flow of internal communication. This programme focussed on generating a sense of self belief, belonging, and the realisation that when times are tough, you can perform so much better together.'

Edwards added 'It is a difficult call in the current economic environment to run a programme solely focussed on staff behaviours. D3 cleverly tailored a package that refreshed, reinforced and reinstated Land Rover's uncrushable spirit for success.'

D3 Events has recently moved to upgraded premises on the Eastnor Castle Estate in Herefordshire, and can offer a full range of incentive and motivational team building packages, in addition to conference and meeting room facilities. Overnight accommodation is available from tents and Mongolian Gers, to the luxury of staying in the Castle itself.
