Europe is undoubtedly a favorite destination for travelers all over the world, but all the places in the continent are not very pocket friendly. But there are some places where you can enjoy the beauty of Europe even with a low travel budget. For instance, if you travel to the East European countries like Slovenia, Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia and others, you’ll surely have a great time without having to spend much.
.Tallinn – You can start with Tallinn in Estonia that has a generous cultural mix of Moscow and Helsinki. It is a beautiful city with a rich history. The city center is a UNESCO world heritage site. Tallinn is one the few well preserved walled cities of Europe. The 13th to 15th century buildings can be found in the city and it is a delight for all architecture lovers. Not only about the ancient cultures in the region one can also learn a lot about the history of erstwhile Soviet Union here. You cannot call Tallinn dirt cheap but it is still cheaper than most of the well known cities in Eastern Europe and much cheaper than the major European cities.
.Krakow – Don’t miss Poland, if you are looking for cheap tour destinations in Europe. The city of Krakow has quite a resemblance to Prague with its churches and outdoor cafes. You can walk through the city to enjoy its beauty, which will also help you in cutting costs. Almost all parts of the city can be traversed on foot. If you are looking for a place that is less frequented by tourists, then this is it. The admission charges to various tourist spots are quite low and free at some places on Sundays. There are many inexpensive cafes that can take care of your taste buds during your stay in the city.
.Dubrovnik – Visit Dubrovnik in Croatia if you have cheap tour destinations on your mind. This city has been rated by many people as one of the cheapest European destinations. The perfectly blue waters of the Adriatic and the great beaches ideal for sunbathing make it a great alternate destination when the French Riviera is out of your bounds. The old world charm of this city by the sea, with its cobbled streets and red roofed houses will awe any visitor. And all this is quite affordable.
.Kosice – Kosice in Slovakia is an East European city that very few people around the world have hardly heard about. It can easily qualify to be the cheapest in the cheap tours circuit. Visiting this city does not mean just traveling to one of the least expensive European cities but also enjoying the good old Europe which is still to see many footfalls from international tourists. Shopkeepers in this city hardly know English so be prepared for that. As per food, three course meals are quite affordable here as well as the lodging.
.Ljubljana – It is the capital city of Slovenia, situated on the famous river which is said to have carried the mythical Jason and his Argonauts to the quest of Golden Fleece. In spite of Slovenia becoming a member of the European Union, the cost of visiting this city is still quite low. So, travelling around the city won’t be an expensive affair for most people.
