I have had many experiences in postcard printing, and let me tell you that in most cases, there are a few features in color postcards that always make it look good. In fact, you can say that in color postcard printing, there are certain features that postcards should not do without. This article has been done for those of you who are interested in postcard printing. I will share with you the features that you should always apply to all your postcards to assure their success. For a start, let's look at the professional gloss.
The professional gloss – If you look at the color postcards today, you will notice there are still telltale difference between their make. There are simple postcards that are just big cards with thick paper, and there are those professional postcards that look shiny as they shimmer in the light. Those professional looking postcards shine, because they are printed in glossy high quality paper. This is the feature that you should always use in your own postcard printing. Albeit expensive, this feature is the one that usually gets the most attention. So it is a must really if you want to succeed in printing postcards.
The full color image spread – Another mandatory feature that all postcards should have is a full color image spread. In today's world, black and white or gray-scale images just don't cut it anymore when you put them in postcards. You have to spend on money to print postcards in their full photo-realistic color. This is the only way to get noticed and get understood through your postcard. Those colors communicate subtle feelings and energies that contribute to the overall reaction to a postcard. So make sure that there is space in your budget for full color postcard printing.
The thick durable paper – You must also remember that your postcard will be exposed to the elements. So not only must the color postcards of our days look beautiful, they must be durable as well. In my case, I usually invest in printing postcards using thick durable card paper. These thick cards are not easily bendable and have some moisture and dirt resistance through its protective coating. Just ask your postcard printer if they offer different paper weights or thickness for postcards to get these features. Try to use the highest one if possible to get the most durable color postcard you can produce.
The appropriate text – Lastly, postcards must always have the appropriate text style to accommodate its design. You should not use the plain ones available in your desktop publishing software. In my experience, the best color postcards are the ones with their own unique font styles. They add a touch of elegance and personality to the postcard content. So try to download unusual ones over the Internet or have one made for your own personal purpose. It should add that little flair for images and words that most people can appreciate.
So there you have it. Four simple tips, but you should get a lifetime of good postcards when you follow the steps. Have a nice time in your postcard printing! Good Luck!
