Having trouble with your presentation folders? Are your custom folders not impressing your clients or bosses? Well, if this is happening to you, then you need to isolate the problems with your presentation folders. To help you find that out, here are the questions that you need to ask that should point you properly in the right direction.
• Is your message getting through?
The first thing that you need to test is your message. Is the professional image that you want to project indeed present in your design. Is the message properly composed? To test this out, try giving away your presentation folders to various friends and officemates. Ask them what kind of message your folder is projecting. If you were good at composing your message, you should get mostly right reactions from people. Otherwise, if people do not get the message, then you already know where your problem lies.
• Is the design inspired enough to impress?
The designs of presentation folders must be inspired enough to impress. Otherwise, it will look like the run of the mill custom folder that no one will take a second look at. To know if your design is impressive enough, try to compare your design with other presentation folders. There should be plenty to see at your office, or you can go online and see what others are doing. See what looks better your design or the others. After comparing with a good many custom folders, you should be able to get an idea of the level of impressiveness your folders have. If it does not rate good, then you have plenty of work ahead of you in revamping the design.
Are the materials correct for the presentation?
Another thing that you should look at is the folder material. For high profile reports where the big bosses are, it is usually best to have the best quality materials used for presentation folders. If you did not do this and instead just printed normally, then that maybe the reason why your presentation folders are not successful. You must always match the importance of the presentation with the quality of your folder. The more important it is, the better your folder materials should be. Fail that and you may risk failure in the report itself.
• Does the folder function as it should be?
Of course, folders must also function as a folder should be. Check to see if all your folder materials can fit into just one custom folder. If everything fits perfectly than you are fine. If the thing gets bulky and bent however then your design for the folder is not good. Folders must look effective and function effectively. If it can't carry all the needed materials in a good way then that it will look very amateurish, damaging the credibility of its content.
So try to ask these questions and see where it leads you. By doing the tests and analysis pointed at the items above, you should able to systematically determine where your problem lies why your presentation folders are failing. Good Luck!
