In India, the concept of news and its many variants such as latest news, the very popular ‘breaking news’ is losing its value and fast. In India news are becoming more of raving news. The case has been taken to the extreme by the Indian news channels, which are becoming more and more obnoxious and unbearable. But it does not mean news are fighting a lonely battle with the commercial overdose of the latest news and it’s more vicious counterpart ‘breaking news’, in India news are being safeguarded by some of the limited numbers of news organisations which are trying their best to give direction to the content and taste in Indian news.

It is pathetic to find that news concerning the recent marriage ceremony of a ‘celebrity’ in a reality show is touted as the ‘latest news’ in some channels of (dubious) repute. While for breaking news one can feast ones eyes on the recent spat that any politicians had behind their open doors. In India news cannot afford to be limited to dumb happening or soap-opera mad-caps, the Indian news channels and broadcast definitely try to come together in making the news room a platform for spreading news that matters. The news broadcasting is going global and online and here the best bet lies.

The web portals are the ‘in-thing’ when coming up with the real “, latest news” and breaking news. In India news seem to have found a life beyond the drawing rooms and to a plane where it can reach fast to its chosen audience that includes the niche groups as well. So, may be the bleak side of the Indian news telecast and broadcast is not that dark after all. The news world is jetting competition and this actually is good news to its many critics who find the growing fascination of the era of “latest news’ and breaking news a little too stifling. India news will see a new avataar (it has actually began showing a trace), the Indian news scene will change and hopefully for good.
