Treat your face using natural skin care products and heal it instead. Invest in the best products you can afford and use them religiously. The better your skin care products, the more perfect your skin becomes and the less makeup it needs.

Natural skincare includes 7 essential steps. The first 6 should be done once in the morning and once in the evening, every day and without fail.

(1) Cleansing. The most important step of all, but be careful what you use. Body soaps are out. Some products are too harsh, others contain ingredients tested on animals that can clog pores and leave a residue. Use a natural cleanser, gentle enough not to irritate but effective enough to remove makeup, perspiration, dirt and toxins. Never, ever, go to bed wearing makeup!

(2) Toning. Toners with natural ingredients remove cleansing residue, oils, bacteria, and impurities. They also shrink pores, exfoliate dead skin and balance the skin's PH levels. Toners are especially important if you have oily skin or suffer from breakouts. It's sort of like sterilizing your face.

(3) Moisturising. Even with oily skin, apply a non-irritating natural moisturiser every day. Moisturiser keeps skin from drying out, makes it soft, plumps up the skin's surface, reduces the appearance of fine lines, and helps to keep new wrinkles from forming. If your skin is oily, choose a non-greasy water-based moisturiser.

(4) Exfoliating. Use a gentle exfoliating product daily to remove dead skin and let the new and younger cells underneath shine through. Dead cells form every day and, if not removed, can clog pores and cause blemishes. If you don't exfoliate, your skin will look dull and flaky. Choose a natural and gentle product and don't overdo it.

(5) Eyes. The eye area is very delicate and prone to fine lines and bagging. A natural product specially formulated for eyes should be used daily and applied by tapping it into the skin to avoid stretching fragile tissues.

(6) Lips. Lips should be exfoliated daily with a washcloth to get rid of dead cells and prepare them for gloss, lipstick or balm. You may wish to use a lip moisturiser before applying color to keep lips soft, supple and full.

(7) Anti-Aging Treatments. If you're young, you'll want to protect yourself from aging and do all you can to prevent it before it starts to show. And if you're older, a natural and effective anti-aging product can slow down aging and keep problems from getting worse. Find an anti-aging product that's right for your skin and use it regularly for best results.

Faithful treatment with natural skin care products can eliminate large pores and blemishes, transform your skin within weeks, and keep it looking it's best. If you've neglected skin care, you'll be pleased and amazed by the results. But especially on your face, it's vital to select skin care products with natural ingredients that are not tested on animals.
