Modern technology has developed the smallest fiber that is manmade and as a result microfiber furniture is born. The microfiber fabric on furniture is very popular because it has a rich and luxurious appearance. Because of its beauty it is a great alternative to some of the natural materials like suede and leather. Some manufacturers also call this fabric micro suede because it has a very similar appearance to suede. The advantage though is that it is more durable and easy to keep and at the same time it offers a beautiful appearance. Microfiber furniture is recommended highly for people with allergies because it does not leave any lint or dust in the fibers.

Suede furniture has a big disadvantage because it can become dirty quickly and at the same time it can develop permanent stains if it gets wet. Suede has a napped natural finish and because of its nature every mark will show. Customers will pay a higher premium for micro-suede furniture because of the increased comfort level compared to suede furniture. Micro-suede furniture is much easier to clean and is water resistant compared to suede furniture. Many salesmen will tell you that microfiber furniture is indestructible but it is possible to completely ruin the elegance and the looks if you do not take proper care of your microfiber furniture.

The best way to maintain the looks of your microfiber furniture is to vacuum regularly. You should vacuum your furniture every week to keep the surface free from lint, dust and pet hairs. You need to vacuum in the cracks of your furniture, under the cushions and in any other tight spots to keep the pile loose and fluffy. If the dirt and dust is allowed to collect on your furniture this will lead to a film forming on your microfiber furniture which will make the appearance dull and dingy. Your microfiber furniture will also start to show premature wear and tear.

Any furniture that is kept in direct sunlight will start to fade and with microfiber furniture this becomes more prominent because of its bright luster. Drawing the curtains periodically when the room is not being used will go a long way to protecting your microfiber furniture and keep its beauty. Also not eating food on your furniture will prevent unsightly stains from appearing. When you do get spots or spills on your microfiber furniture it is necessary to remove them as quickly as you can buy using a damp cloth and a little bit of dish detergent mixed with water.

One common problem that people run into when they are cleaning spots or spills are that when the fabric dries ugly rings appear where the fabric got wet. One easy solution to this problem is to use a blow drier on cool and dry the fabric rapidly. Following this procedure will prevent those ugly rings from forming.

Even if you vacuum your furniture regularly, remove any spots or spills immediately and develop the proper habits to protect your furniture it will still need to be washed on a regular basis. Washing your microfiber furniture every year will remove the washable dirt that clicks on your furniture as a result of cooking odors, grease and oils from your hands and air pollution from outside. Removing these will help to maintain the new appearance of your microfiber furniture.

It is always best to rely on professional upholstery cleaners because cleaning microfiber furniture can be tricky at times. Some cleaning equipment as attachments that can damage the microfiber if you don't use it properly. You should never use any cleaning or laundry products that have bleach because this can cause permanent discoloration. Whenever you are cleaning microfiber you should use as little moisture as possible to prevent any damage. If you do develop a proper routine of care you will notice that your furniture will keep its beauty and elegance.
