Surely you can’t prevent disaster from happening. The only way you can mitigate the worst effects is to detect any slip-up from the very beginning of your poster printing. The earlier you do so, the easier it would be for you to take the edge off, not to mention help you save on costs and money from producing your custom posters.
So how do you ease the burden of errors when poster printing? Here are some of the most common mistakes made when printing your custom posters and how you can alleviate it so you prevent any major problem from happening later on.
Error #1 – More details on a very powerful background.
This is the time when you have to understand that more is definitely not better. In fact, less is more. So before you get confused with the words, let’s just simplify it by saying that the simpler you design your poster printing, the easier it would be for your target audience to understand your message.
Sure, you can grab the attention of your audience with too many elements in your custom posters. But the error in that is too many details against a multi-patterned background can cause your target audience to get confused while reading your message. Not only do your elements clutter your design, they also make it harder for your target readers to focus on what is really important, which is your message.
To avoid it, be sure to give enough contrast between your elements and solid images. Don’t forget to work your elements against each other that your message would be emphasized rather than be subdued by your design and pattern.
Error #2 – There’s just too many colors.
There’s a predilection for most of us to experiment with too many shades. This comes from our kindergarten days when we used to find it exciting and fun to play with a lot of colors. But the thing is, you need to know when’s enough is enough especially for your ad. Too much bright colors can leave your target audience dazed and confused. Not only do your inks distort your overall design, but they also prevent your target audience from getting the real message of your story.
A colorful design is surely attractive but it’s not the end-all and be-all of your poster printing. Bear in mind that your aim is to get your message across to your target clients. Too many colors just make it difficult for them to see from all the clutter and brilliance.
Error #3 – There are too many details and ideas.
The number one rule when printing posters is to stick to one topic, one message. Even if you include so many elements in your design, you need to ensure that each one of these elements point to one direction – your message.
All in all, your custom posters would benefit more if you do it less. Remember KISS? Keep it simple and sweet. The less you include in your design, the easier it would be for your target clients to understand your message.
