Vinyl flooring is made from different mixture of vinyl. The two major types are solid vinyl and composite vinyl. In the solid vinyl, base made up of vinyl is used to set in the vinyl pieces. In composite vinyl, the vinyl pieces are set in the non vinyl base. Out of these two, solid vinyl is the costlier as well as long lasting. More the vinyl content, the better is quality of material.

On top of vinyl floor either a layer of urethane is applied or it consists completely of vinyl layer. This layer is called the protective layer. Urethane retains its shine for longer period while in vinyl layering you need to regularly wax them. However, the advantage with the vinyl layering is that it can resist the stains and scratches more than urethane layering.

It can be further categorized into tile form or sheet form. Mostly the tile form is used because it is easier to install or repair. Normally the tile form or sheet form have the glue backing which when removed can be easily fixed on the floor. You can yourself apply the glue with the sponge and then fit the tile in the required place. Nowadays the tiles come in structure in which the glue is only applied on the edges. This makes it easier to replace if the requirement comes.

Although it depends on your budget but it would be better if you can settle for good quality vinyl flooring which will last longer without giving you the headaches about repairing or replacing them constantly.
